"Once a year, go someplace you've never been before" - Dalai Lama
I love to travel and I'm very thankful I've been given the opportunity to throughout my life. Travelling helps me find a different perspective. It takes me out of my comfort zone and makes me feel alive. Even when I can't get away, I like to plan day trips to state parks, or explore my own city.
One of my favorite cities to explore, besides my own, is NYC! I've been twice so far, and I'm planning another trip this fall. My sister and I went August 2018 for her 21st birthday. We had a blast going to the Comedy Cellar. I love stand up comedy and we were able to listen to very well known comedians. The first time I went to NYC, was for my 18th birthday. It was a memorable experience. My family and I saw Tom Hanks broadway debut, "The Lucky Guy". My step-mom's friend was in it, and we went backstage and met the actors, including Tom Hanks!
This past summer, I went on a European tour with my sister and friend. First stop was Munich, Germany to visit some friends. Honestly, Munich was not my favorite. There was a lot of history, but the culture can be very uptight.. Our second stop was Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre, Italy. Italian food is my favorite and their grocers are so cheap and delicious! Not to mention, the views!! (Riomagiorre pictured) Our last stops were Paris and London. Paris was beatiful. We had to hit up the Louvre of course, but spent the rest of our time wandering the streets. Everything was pricier in Paris, but worth it for the romance! London, was my second favorite destination. We shamefully took the double-decker bus tour. However, by the end of it I didn't care. It was amazing to see the buildings and places that you hear about in history books.
