Self-love and self-care have always been a passion of mine. I like to work everyday to become the best person I can possibly be. These are some of the ways I do so!
Reading is an important tool for my personal growth. I prefer to read non-fiction books. One of my favorite books of all time is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. The book lists four "rules" to follow, so that everyone can live their best life. 1. Be impeccable with your word 2. Don't take anything personally 3. Don't make assumptions 4. Always do your best. For years now, I've reminded myself of these "rules" on a daily basis. It helps me to build and maintain my core values.
My second favorite non-fiction book is The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein. The author describes her life experiences and her journey that helped her discover her spiritual self. The book has inspired me to trust in God (the universe). Everytime I read it, I feel more empowered and confident.
Meditation has been a long journey for me. I've been trying to practice consitently for several years now. It's a simple way to calm yourself and get back into your center. I usually meditate for 10 minutes at a time. After doing so, I'm able to process thoughts more clearly. Emotions that typically overwhelm me, become more subtle and not as important. My goal is to meditate for 30 minutes at least every day. Hopefully one day, I'll get there!
My favorite excercises include running, climbing, yoga, and tennis. If I don't excercise, energy builds up within me and it's hard to focus. I love to run because it's easy to do. I don't need any equipment. If I'm stressed, I tend to go for a run. I always do yoga after running, to stretch and to have a moving meditation. I like to climb and play tennis when I feel like challenging myself. It takes more focus and technique than running, but I feel more confident after I accomplish a goal in each activity.
